During these short weeks of home economics lesson, i learnt to cook some simple dishes and snacks like frying eggs, baking cookies and making chicken kebab. i often see my mother chopping onions and garlic, it looks simple when she does it but in actual fact, it is quite a tough task as your eyes will be in pain while chopping the onions. I have also learnt that hygiene is very important to a chef, after washing the used utensils, you have to wipe it dry till not a drop of water could be seen. I guess this is to make sure that there is no bacteria on the pots or pans that he or she will be using. As a beginner, i feel that cooking is a waste of time as it usually eats into my recess thus resulting to the lack of time for me to eat. I hope that after learning how to cook for one year, i will be more experience in it thus, being able to help my mother while she is cooking. As said: Two is better than one! I will continue updating this blog as this is my first time.
